What is Lumen? What projector meets your needs? Ask us!
One lumen is approximately equal to the amount of light put out by one birthday candle that's one foot away from you. To help you get an idea of the lumen scale, a standard 60-watt bulb puts out around 750-850 lumens of light.
Brighter rooms need a projector with higher lumens. For dark rooms, 1000 to 1200 lumens should be sufficient, although often classrooms and conference rooms need 2500 lumens or more.
To determine the needed lumens, you will need to multiply your room square footage by your room foot-candle requirement. For example, a 100 square foot conference room, which needs 10-20 foot-candles, will need 1,000-2,000 lumens. A larger banquet room, which needs 30-40 foot-candles, will need 3,000-4,000 lumens.
